The idiom “familiarity breeds contempt”

[used to describe the fact that you know someone very well and you stop respecting them because you have seen all of their bad qualities]
1 Thessalonians 4:8
He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
[§]We are looking at the subject in relation to our attitude to the agent of our Blessings.
[§]Now the Prosperity of every child of God is guaranteed in the scriptures.
(1)Job 36:11
If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
(2)Psalm 35:27
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
(3)3John 2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
(4)2 chronicle 20:20
And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
[§]HOWEVER there are Principles that must be complied with in order to enjoy the prosperity of God.
God connects us with our agents of Blessings.
For instance it is dangerous to become familiarly with the agent of your Blessings.
[§]FAMILIARITY MAKES YOU a SCORNER
2 Chronicles 36:16
But they kept mocking the messengers of God, despising his words and scoffing at his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against his people, until there was no remedy.
It means to get used to someone or something or activity to the extent that the sacredness of the entity is eroded and thus no longer attract the Blessings.
It also refers to a feeling of knowing someone or something too well,to the extent that the honor and respect and value of such a person is diminished or eroded in your eyes.
Another reason why this subject is in view is because “Whatever or Whosoever you don’t value can not add value to your life”.
Mark 6:4
But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
Mathew 13:54-55(57)

]DANGER OF FAMILIARITY.
1)[Familiarity breeds contempt(disrespect or disregard)]
Queen Vashti disrespected King Ahaeserus and she was displaced (Esther 1:17-19)
2)[Familiarity brings you close to the agents of your Blessings but leaves you without any Blessing]
In Luke 5:16-25 Jesus taught with the power of God present to heal but none was healed except two men who brought their sick friend.
3)[Familiarity with your Prophets can bring untimely death instead of abundant life]
The case of Korah,Dathan and Abiram who despised Moses and were swallowed by the earth(Number 16:12-30)
4)[Familiarity can lead to sicknesses]
The Case of Michal. She became barren because she despised king David as he worshipped God in a dance. (2 samuel 6:16)
Also Mariam the senior sister of Moses became leprous for disrespecting Moses. Even though Moses was her junior brother but he was the anointed prophet of God. (Numbers 12:10)
5)[Familiarity kills your faith]
Jesus couldn’t do miracles because he was dishonored.
Mathew 13:57-58
57)And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
58)And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
6)[Familiarity depreciates the Vessels of Blessings in your Heart and Your eyes]
(Mathew 5:25-31)
In the case of the woman of the issue of Blood who was healed by merely touching the helm of the garment of Jesus, Compare to the teeming crowd amongst who were those with ailment pressing on Jesus yet they were not healed.
7)[Familiarity causes you to loose your Rights and it be given to another better than you].

The case of Ham the Son of Noah disrespected the father because he was drunk with wine
 
[§]THOSE WHO EASILY FALL PREY TO THIS SPIRIT.
1)Family Members.
2)Classmates.
3)Church Members.
4)Ministers,Deacons,Elders.
5)Proud Members.
6)Rich Members.
7)Ungrateful members
8)Rebellious people under disciplined.
9)People with too know Spirit.
10)Those who have one or two manifestation of the gift of the 11)HolySpirit but lack character.
12)People who hate correction.
13)People who are sarcastic.
[§]WHAT TO DO,
1)Sincere Repentance.
2)Check your heart.
3)Make amends ask for forgiveness
4)Give honor to your man of God.
SAY AFTER ME:
1)O lord my God I repent of my attitude towards my agent of blessing in Jesus name.
2)My father create in my a new heart O ,lord in Jesus name.
3)I break away from the strong of the spirit of familiarity in Jesus name.
4)I break away from the habit of the scornful in Jesus name.
5)I receive the grace to value and honor the agent of my lifting in Jesus name.
6)I receive wisdom to maintain courteous distance between me and my benefactors in Jesus name.
7)I receive grace and wisdom to make amends where I have allowed familiarity to rob me of my blessings in Jesus name.
